Why Join the
Somerset Federation
of Gardening Clubs ?
The Somerset Federation of Gardening Clubs was formed in 1984 by members of the Castle Cary Gardening Association and 10 other local clubs.
Their aim was to support committee members in the running of gardening clubs by providing advice and practical help with the day to day of club affairs.
The SFGC continues that work today for the current membership of
180+ clubs.
The website is key to the support we offer member clubs. Times change and since the pandemic of 2020 it is estimated that 3 million people in Britain have taken up gardening as a new interest.
The SFGC website is a way for your club to reach those new to gardening, many of whom use the internet as a key source of information. The website can be used to advertise your club events and to attract new members.
In addition we have a number of useful documents to help in the routine running of clubs and their activities.
The Federation is dedicated to supporting those who are enthusiastic about all aspects of horticulture.
